Dorsi Diaz

Apprenticeship Alum

Joined 6 years ago from The San Francisco Bay Area. Last activity 38 hours ago.

Executive Director at the Sun Gallery in Hayward, Ca. Founder and project creator of "The Art of Climate Change", a socially interactive public education project through art and mixed media.

I'm a freelance-writer/researcher. I write here at HubPages and am also the climate change reporter for the San Francisco Examiner. I wrote for the ANG newspaper group as a community columnist for over 5 years. I am also a photographer, art educator and artist who lives in the SF Bay Area.

HubPages is where I started my online writing journey 5 years ago. Before writing for an Internet audience, I was a local columnist for 5 years with the ANG Newspaper Group and wrote a popular Silicon Valley column called "Around the Monument". During that time I was also the owner of a sign business for 14 years. My professional background is in writing, graphic design, art, photography and marketing.

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 60's and 70's, I am a "been there and done that" kind of chick. I have 3 sons and grandchildren (plus many more that call me "mom" and "grandma") and a border collie named Indie.

I can have a wicked sense of humor yet am always ready to give hugs when needed. Not one to avoid controversy, I am known to create articles that also spark alot of debate. I also have some articles that are places to just come and be sad, vent or just ask for advice.

I also write as the Climate Change reporter for the San Francisco Examiner, a subject which I have studied for several years. You can follow here to read the latest on Climate Change - how it is affecting us now and what is in store for our future as extreme heat, droughts, cold snaps and weather events cause record-breaking disasters.
