HubPages is where I started my online writing journey 4 years ago. Before writing for an Internet audience, I was a local columnist for 5 years with the ANG Newspaper Group and wrote a popular Silicon Valley column called "Around the Monument". During that time I was also the owner of a sign business for 14 years. My professional background is in graphic design, photography and marketing.
Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 60's and 70's, I am a "been there and done that" kind of chick. I have 3 sons and grandchildren (plus many more that call me "mom" and "grandma"), 3 blue nose grey pit-bulls, 2 border collies and a cat named Zorro (yes he manages to survive among all the dogs!) I can have a wicked sense of humor yet am always ready to give hugs when needed. I am known to create articles that spark alot of debate! I also have some articles that are places to just come and be sad, vent or just ask for advice.
