Photos and Images of Water Features and Water Fountains
Water fountains and features are favorites of mine
Water fountains and water features are one of my favorite things in homes and gardens. The sound of water, along with the reflections of water, bring a sense of peace to my surroundings. If I had my way, I would probably have a water feature in every room in my home!
One of my favorite parks close-by is Shinn Historical Park and Gardens in Fremont California. The park is the site of one of the first commercial plant nurseries here in California. The park not only has a beautiful garden but also has water features scattered throughout the gardens. One day while I was visiting, I made a game out of discovering each water fountain and feature I could find, and ended up with some beautiful photos that day. Before and after each photo I took the time to sit and enjoy the water feature and the surroundings, and it greatly added to the serenity of that day. The fountain in front of the house is the original fountain (with restoration) and many of the other water features have been added over the years.
I hope you enjoy our little "stroll" through Shinn Park. Listen closely and maybe you can can even hear the water trickling!

The park is maintained by volunteers
Shinn Park has had many upgrades and additions added in the last few years. All work performed there is by a dedicated group of volunteers who maintain the gardens, plants and take care of all the park features. Some of these bird baths have been recently added and do not have water lines to them yet. The original water fountain in front of the house and the Japanese water gardens have been there quite sometime, added during a Shinn family members stay in the house. The house and garden were deeded to the City of Fremont and the park is now a historical site. Weddings and special events are also held there. I hope you have enjoyed our little jaunt through some of the beautiful water features that Shinn park has to offer - they make a delightful subject to not only photograph but to enjoy!
