Special Effects and Edits in Photobucket
I "wear" many hats!
Besides being a writer, I am also a photographer and an artist. My other "day job" is to photograph newborn babies in the hospitals, in cute poses with their family members. Outside that job, photography is just a hobby for me though. I do however enjoy capturing shots of interesting things. I don't own a "professional" camera - I just have a digital point and shoot (except for at work I use a Nikon D60 - an awesome camera) I used to take alot of photos with my camera phone, and sometimes they come out pretty decent as long as the mega-pixels are decent (some of the newer cell phones have some pretty decent cameras on them too)
Recently I was showing off one of my favorite spots - Shinn Park - and I was camera-less this day (I dropped my digital camera a few days before and broke it) so all I had with me was my little RCA Small Wonder Camcorder (which also takes photos)
As it turned out my friend (who is also a children's photographer)became very excited when she realized how many awesome places there were to take photos in the park. Her and I went around the park, exploring and discovering, her taking photos with her camera phone (she didn't have her camera either that day), and me taking photos with my little camcorder camera (it's only a low resolution 1 mega-pixel camera) Despite less then great equipment, I never give up the opportunity to take good photos when I see them - even if my camera does leave much to be desired.
One of the reasons I will use a low resolution camera anyway is because I know I can go into Photobucket's editing program and make a bad photo turn into a work of art. Above and below are examples of what I've done with just "OK" photos - and why I suggest to people don't ever throw away a good shot just because it's a little blurry or washed out. With some simple edits you can turn your photo into a masterpiece! Look at the one of Seth against the tree and Lyzaea's "close-up", both would make awesome artwork on the walls of a home!

Don't throw away good photos!
I hope you have enjoyed your tour through my little gallery of edited photos. As you can see, alot can be done with just "OK" photos. All of these edits can be made in the Photobucket editing program. Photobucket is free to join and it's also free to use the editing program there. Just play around with your photos and you'll be amazed at what beautiful images you can achieve!
