What Are the Best Baby Walking Shoes for Babies Learning to Walk?
My Grandsons First Pair of Walking Shoes - Robeez
What are the best shoes for babies learning to walk? This is the question I asked myself recently when I had the delightful experience of buying my grandson his first pair of walking shoes. With all the new baby walking shoes to choose from, I wanted to make sure that he got something great for his feet that would be good for his developing feet.
When my sons were small I used to take them to Striderite, but before we could make a trip to the dept. store I wandered across some adorable, sturdy little leather baby shoes on Amazon called "Robeez". I liked how the Robeez looked and I liked the reviews that parents were giving Robeez. I decided these would be a good pair for Zach to try. The pair I ended up getting for Zach were the Robeez Mini Shoez Infant/Toddler Trainer Sneakers. They were doctor recommended for growing feet and they had moldable soles that were also good for babies feet. They looked like a great shoe for the price ($30) and they were highly recommended as a toddlers first walking shoe. There were many styles of baby shoes to choose from but I liked the little sneakers (He almost ended up with the little toddler dog/bone slip on shoes - just toooo cute!!)

5 Star Reviews for Babies First Walking Shoes
The Robeez infant shoes I bought Zach have a 5 star review at
Amazon, and the Robeez line has a wide variety of styles and colors for
baby. I got the infant sneaker tennis shoe because I liked the color,
style and for the fact that he could also wear them outdoors. Robeez product info on their little mini sneaker "shoez" mentions that they are:
- Nylon, mesh, and leather
- Rubber sole
- Easy, stay-put fit
- Water-repellant, non-slip sole
- Recommended by the American Podiatry Medical Association for healthy foot development
(That last part was especially important to me - doctor recommended shoes are always a good bet)

So after getting Zach's Robeez, it was time for a test run (or should I say test walk?) The Robeez went on well, there was a slight struggle because after all the shoes ARE made to stay on, but once on they were a nice snug fit. I got the 12-18 month Robeez because I didn't want his first walkers to be too big. These fit nicely with just a little room to grow.
The real test? Within minutes of putting his shoes on he was up and walking, and I mean fast ( see video beside the text here) There were no spills, no sliding around, just sure little footsteps in and around the house. I was quite impressed. He liked his shoes and guess what? He can't take them off!! Ha! I'm sold!
If you are questioning yourself on what are the best shoes for babies learning to walk, I highly recommend the Robeez line of shoes. Apparently Zach is in good company because a lot of thecelebrities think that Robeez are the best shoes for their babies too!
